Amirabdollahian made the remarks on Monday in joint a press conference with Pakistan's Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani in Islamabad.
He added that the two countries have offered many martyrs in the war against terrorism in recent years, adding that the terrorists operating near the Iran-Pakistan borders enjoy support from third parties.
The top Iranian diplomat said that Iran and Pakistan will never allow terrorists to harm their relations and the security of their borders.
Amirabdollahian added that Pakistan has officially invited Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi to pay a visit to the country, adding that the two sides have agreed to work together on a plan that ensures Raisi's visit to "the friendly and brotherly country of Pakistan" can take place in the near future.
No crisis in Tehran and Islamabad ties
In response to a question, Amirabdollahian said that the two countries have deep ties, so there will is no crisis in the relations between Tehran and Islamabad, we exchange delegations at different levels.
Referring to the cultural, historical, geographical and religious ties between Tehran and Islamabad, Pakistan's Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani, for his part in the press conference, said that our relations with Iran are based on cultural characteristics.
Jilani said that we discussed important bilateral issues in detail and emphasized that the relations between the two sides are valuable for the two nations and are an important source for peace and stability in the region.
Emphasizing that Iran and Pakistan are determined to develop political and security relations, he noted that terrorism threat is a common challenge of the two countries and Iran and Pakistan are determined to take a collective approach based on cooperation to deal with terrorism, which can be achieved.
He continued paying attention to the territorial integrity of the two countries as one of the unavoidable principles.
Iran, Pakistan to open 5 new border marketplaces
Pakistan's Foreign Minister in his remarks added that both sides agreed to have necessary cooperation regarding economic and border issues, the opening of the border markets of the two countries and the opening of an energy transmission line in April 2023 showed that the two countries intend to expand relations, and today we agreed to open five more border marketplaces.
He added that we agreed to establish a consultative mechanism at the level of foreign ministers, which will be formed regularly to monitor the progress of cooperation between the two countries.
The Iranian foreign minister arrived in Islamabad late on Sunday at the invitation of Jilani.
He had left Tehran’s Meharabad Airport late on Sunday where he was seen off by Pakistan’s new ambassador to Iran Muhammad Mudassir Tipu.
